Living in the Gray
Living in the Gray is a collection of poetry born from the spaces between despair and surrender. It’s an offering and a beacon for those finding their way through the depths of heartbreak and loss, and a companion for moments when the heaviness of grief and uncertainty gives way to hope and possibility. It is an affirmation that even in the dark moments when the path feels unclear, we can rediscover ourselves, piece by piece.
Life exists within a wide spectrum. The phrase “living in the gray” is about embracing ambiguity and uncertainty and being open to possibilities. We live most of our lives in the gray, the liminal spaces from one moment to the next, with every thought we think and every action we take shaping our reality. Sometimes the gray areas are easy to navigate, sometimes they’re murky and overwhelming.
It is with deep gratitude, excitement, and vulnerability that I launch my poetry chapbook, Living in the Gray, into the world. These poems were written during a season of deep transition in my life. They speak to the spaces between heartbreak and healing, letting go and becoming. They’re an offering for anyone navigating loss, belonging, and change.
This release includes:
– A PDF version of the chapbook, which includes 11 poems as well as reflection prompts and space for journaling
– An audio edition, recorded with additional commentary, for those who prefer to listen and hear a little more of the story behind the words
Living in the Gray is my debut poetry collection
I chose to release Living in the Gray on Bandcamp intentionally. Bandcamp is one of the few platforms that prioritizes artists, allowing creators to retain ownership of their work, receive a fairer share of revenue, and connect directly with the people who choose to support it. Unlike larger platforms, it doesn’t reduce art to algorithms or fractions of a cent per listen. By purchasing this work here, you’re supporting independent creation in a way that’s ethical, transparent, and aligned with the values that shaped these poems. Whether you read or listen, this work is meant to be a companion to return to in moments when you find yourself living in the in-between.
Thank you for being part of my world, for holding space for my vulnerability, for your support of independent art and my writing, and for witnessing this work as it comes into being. If these poems speak to you, I’d love for you to share how they land for you. Let’s keep the conversation going on our Discord channel, a safe space to connect without all the drama and algorithms of traditional social media. My hope is that we can offer one another a sense of grounding and steadiness as we navigate the dark, the light, and the gray spaces of life together. May we continue to seek presence with what life is offering in each moment, where nothing is fully known and anything is possible.
I am deeply grateful for your support.
The Journey Within
The butterfly serves as a powerful symbol of healing and transformation. From childhood fascination to spiritual rebirth, the butterfly has mirrored the beautiful, often difficult path of becoming. She reminds us to embrace change, surrender into the unknown, and discover the strength within to emerge renewed. Whether you're just beginning or deep in your journey, this is a call to remember: you are the butterfly.
The butterfly emerges
I’ve always loved butterflies. From the pressed butterfly art of my childhood to my first tattoo in my twenties, they have captivated me with their delicate beauty and graceful presence. Across cultures and centuries, the butterfly has served as a symbol of transformation, rebirth, and the soul’s journey from darkness to light. It has also been a mirror of my own path, reminding me of the inevitability of change, and the profound beauty it brings.
The butterfly has become intimately woven into my relationship with plant medicine as well. It speaks to the art of surrender, the mystery of diving into the unknown, and the quiet miracle of becoming. So when it came time to reimagine my business and allow my work to emerge from its cocoon, it felt natural that the butterfly would become the symbol of Journey to You, lovingly crafted with the support of Lp and Brandango.co.
When I first sat with sacred plant medicine, I didn’t yet know I was entering my own cocoon. I came seeking healing, but what I found was the deeper invitation: to unravel, to soften, to meet myself beyond all the stories and identities I had carried. Much like the caterpillar, I was asked to let go of everything I thought I was and remember my true nature.
Sitting with the medicine—stepping into the cocoon—is an inward journey. In the darkness, stillness, and silence of that sacred space, something unseen begins to stir. It is an uncomfortable and beautiful in-between, a liminal space where miracles and magic quietly unfold.
Plant medicine doesn’t do the work for us; it simply reveals what’s possible. And just as the butterfly must press against the walls of the cocoon to emerge, we too must find the strength to unfold ourselves into new life. We step tenderly into a world that looks the same, though we have been forever changed.
This is where the true journey begins; when the experience is brought into our daily life and the insights we gained begin to take root. Over time, we begin to see life differently. We speak more clearly from the heart. We listen with more presence. We love more freely and feel more deeply. And, eventually, we learn to trust the strength of our wings.
At a time when people are longing for deeper healing, meaning, and connection, both the butterfly and plant medicine offer the same wisdom: true transformation asks for courage, patience, and deep trust in the unseen. Whether through ceremony or the slow blossoming of daily life, the path remains the same—surrender, dissolve, emerge.
Like the caterpillar that instinctively knows that it must turn inward to grow, I too have been called to this path of transformation. It is a calling not only to heal myself, but to guide others to their own healing, and to help transform old stories and limiting beliefs about the healing power of cannabis and sacred mushrooms.
Regardless of where you are on your journey, remember that you are the butterfly. Transformation is not the absence of struggle, but the courage to meet it with awareness and grace. I’m deeply honored to be a guide on your journey, to help you safely explore your inner landscape and walk with you the path home to yourself.
